Clean Water Services Forest Grove Plant

by H2O/Utility Team

WHO: Clean Water Services Forest Grove Plant - a three county agency that manages wastewater for 570,000 residents and businesses in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties, Oregon.

WHAT: ARI Optimal Flow Solutions D-025 glass/nylon composite wastewater combination air
release valves.

WHY: Extremely volatile environment, low pressure events, pump efficiency and pipeline efficiency.

HOW: Patented "rolling seal" means the kinetic force required to open the valve to atmosphere is far
less than traditional combination air release valves.

Clean Water Services is a large wastewater utility in the Portland, OR metro region which faces the
challenges of an extremely large network of force mains, relatively flat topography, and location
adjacent to many sensitive waterways including Beaver Creek, as well as Dawson Creek and the
Tualatin River, which flows into the Willamette River.

Clean Water Services relies on ARI to deliver advanced technology flow management solutions with
minimal life-cycle costs. The D-025 is used as the forcemain daylights at the treatment plant.
Also in this shot is an elderly old-technology valve eventually to be retired.
